Old Gravesendians 0-0 Old Colfeians
If there was one word to describe the match it would be MUD! Thanks to a 3rd`s match and a lot rain on the pitch the previous day it felt like you playing on a bog.
A few months the old g’s beat old Colfeians 48-0 so OCRFC were after some revenge.
So we started the match pretty equal with both making so good runs off of rucks, however during the first half we were losing a lot of rucks and line-out ball. But we made up for that by doing very well in loose play with some good runs from Alex, Reese and Yates. We were also using our centres (unlike old Colfs) well with some good runs from Chris. When Old Colfs had the ball they were giving the ball to the full-back or just kicking it away. That meant Rob had a lot to do at full-back nevertheless he tackled with no fear a he ran the ball back at full pelt flattening some of there centres. But the end of the half old colfs chipped the ball through our defence witch there full-back followed and fly hacked 3 times however, when he picked the ball up Alex made a try saving tackle.
We then started the second half by controlling the game and we showed that when George made a very good run considering he had four men hanging on to him. We also had Alex make a twenty yard run witch was stopped five meters out. We then set up a maul witch looked like we had lost the ball but little Ryan came running out, the maul out passing the winger but he was eventually tackled. We then ended the game at a stalemate.
Commiserations to martin who was studded in the privates and Gibbs who lost he trousers. Except from that we had good day of rugby.
Well done and another clean sheet for us.
