Match Report for Old Colfeians Under14s versus OG’s on the 25/02/07

 The OG’s turned up at Horn Park and was determined to come out with only one thing. OG’s came out with one of the strongest pack of forwards we have fielded.

OG’s kicked off and the match was kept mostly near the half way line for the first 20 minutes. Unfortunately due to the slippery conditions there was a lot of handling errors by both sides which made the game stop and start a lot. Most of the game was evenly matched. Eventually due to the pace and fast rucking by the forwards Chris Daniels broke the through and grounded the ball over the try line. Nathan successfully scored the conversion. Unfortunately just before half time Nathan Sawyer was denied a 50/50 try. During half time we were told to play as a team and to play by quick rucking. Colfes kicked to us and the game was played in the “battle zone.” OG’s started to play together and used quick rucking. The effort paid off and Chris Daniels scoring a hat-trick by the base of the rucks and mauls. Unfortunately Nathan missed the kick from the touchline but converted the other two. In the last minute of play Colfes conceded a penalty for holding on to the ball during a ruck. Louis Muncey tapped it quickly and passed it to Haveer and he scored under the posts. Nathan then converted the kick. The referee then blew for full time.

Ben Shove made some storming runs puncturing Colfes line of defence many times.

Well done to Cane, Nathan, Luke and Charlie for their great performances.

We still have a lot of training to do so a full turnout on Sundays and Wednesdays would be appreciated.
