Old Gravesendians v Old Colfeians 4/3/07

I would like to start by thanking Keith & Co for coming down to us and to wish them all the best for the U14’s festival.

After our win away at Colfes just the week before we knew the home match wasn’t going to be a walk in the park and it wasn’t. We were put on the back foot in the first quarter with Colfes scoring a great try and converting.

We kept our cool and with determined drives from the forwards together with a quick ball we managed to bring the score to 5 – 7 with a try from Ben.

After a half time pep talk we started to play as a team, the back row came alive with great runs from John and Ben who scored his second try of the match plus a great performance from Rob anchoring the defence. Then with the ball spread across the wide pitch Nathan was able to do his work on the wing scoring a try and a difficult conversion, which went over off the post!! We ended the game with a cheeky try from Reece who scored from a line out with quick hands and the will to get his name on the score sheet.

Final score OG’s 22 – 7 Colfes

Well done to all players the effort being put in at training is paying off.

Paul.

PS a big thanks to JF and the “back room” help.
